I always say newborn and six month “sitter” sessions are my favorite, but I might be adding a new favorite to the mix! In the last few months I’ve done a few lifestyle type studio sessions with babies who are not quite young enough to come in for a newborn session and not quite old enough to sit independently yet, but certainly at a fun age to capture how much they are loved! For these sessions I’ve set up in the studio a bed, a couch, sometimes a play area for the big sibling… My goal is to have a home feel to the session, without you having to scrub down your entire house and rearrange all of your furniture so we can utilize the best light. The sessions are relaxed, taken at a pace of play, snuggles, jumping on the bed, smothering new baby in kisses, playing with big brother’s trains, incorporating a few family heirlooms, etc. These are particularly great sessions if you’ve “missed out” on a newborn session and don’t quite want to wait until baby is sitting independently. These sessions still capture those small fleeting details of your baby like those tiny toes and sweet smiles for mama.
