Two years ago in February I moved into a shared space in North Wales, PA. A gorgeous 2700 sq ft space called the Photo Loft at Artisan’s Alley. The space was a shared space with 4-5 other like minded photographers and videographer. We each had our own niche of photography, from families, weddings, product photography, boudoir, brand highlighting, newborns (me) that made us special. When asked to join the space I was honored, as I knew it was a place only the best of the best landed! The people there were wonderful and generous with their knowledge and they made me feel like I was home. The only drawback to the space was that, as a posed newborn photographer, there was so much set up and tearing down of my sets to return the space back to a universal shooting space that I arrived to my sessions 45-60 minutes beforehand, and stayed 15-30 minutes after each session was complete to make the place look like a blank canvas again. When they began to work on the space above us to convert it into a smaller studio space I agonized over whether or not I should leave my loft family and spread my wings to my own solo space. Many a tears were shed, late nights awake wondering if it was the place for me, a huge list of pros vs cons; finally I came to the realization that I wasn’t leaving my family….. only moving to the apartment above the garage! So in May of 2016 I packed up my stuff from the Photo Loft and shoved it up a flight of steps in the same building to my own little space. The garage apartment if you will. I’ve been there over half a year and I still get an occasional dinner with the main house ;). I’ve been meaning to make an official announcement, or take some nice photos with my camera, or do a headshot of my own in my space but I’ve been hopping with clients and babies since the move! For that I am thankful. I am also thankful that the “prep” time pre shoot has been reduced to about 15 minutes, along with clean up after, making for a much happier photographer! Take a look!
